You are my reflection:

You are my reflection:

The day when I stared in your eyes,
with a quest to know you further,
I knew that you were different.
If not to others but to me,
you made a difference.

So many times before,
I would have looked you.
Like, I see people everyday;
still not concerned to think, what they are like.

But that day was different,
you became a part of me.
And we were not strangers any more.

I talked to you,
as you wanted to know about me.
Nobody ever had wanted,
to know about me before,
the way you wanted.

I realized, I could not stop babbling about me,
I didn’t know I had so much in me; to talk.
You never judged,
I don’t know for sure, if that was love?

I still talk to you,
despite of your absence.
It’s just like I am talking to my reflection. (2)

You are a part of me now,
and I talk to you,
when I need a friend to listen.

Your presence or absence,
does not matter any more.
As you are there in me,
tough, I may not be there in you.

You are my reflection,
and I talk to you without any hesitation.

You are my reflection. (2)

People will throw filth answer them by throwing it back, in your own way.

People will throw filth answer them by throwing it back, in your own way.

How so ever we may assume that people around us will be sensible to a satisfactory level but in reality most of them are not. Idealistically we should be living in a paradise, where everyone is generous with each other. But unfortunately earth is not that paradise; I am not suggesting that every one is mean. But some people may unnecessarily interfere without any valid reason.

Most of the times these loose comments of other people’s perception on us perturb us. We need to introspect that, do we really have a control over what these people perceive us? We have a control over our behavior; what others do is beyond our reach. Some one may be rude to us but can we really take away the rudeness out of that person. Do we think we are so capable? Well no, we neither can inoculate any goodness in anyone; nor can we take away the badness, we just can influence it. Rest is the journey of the individual.

If we don’t have a control over other’s behavior then why should we worry or even feel bad about their opinion. We can try our best to be virtuous and keep improving ourselves but being a slave to others opinion will lead to our downfall. No one can satisfy every body, there will be people who may see things in their own prism. If you believe in yourself and want to continue that way, then don’t get influenced by others.

I am not suggesting that you ignore every criticism, but choose which criticism is has a weight to being considered. Retaliating, being loud, seeking vengeance for others deeds will make things worse. Knowingly, unknowingly you are paying heed to them and they are being successful in irritating you.
Be yourself and ignore nasty words that have been said to demoralize you. If people throw filth throw it back by not reacting to it. If you react their mission will be accomplished. Easier said then done, but if you will be able to do it then so many problems will be solved for you. People some times speak out nasty words for their own insecurities, envy, belittlement, make you do things their own way, and their incapability to match you. Don’t fall in their trap by reacting to them; throw it back by not reacting to it even tacitly.

Lord Krishna, has lead our way in handling these concept. Some people called him by different ugly names, for example, he was called raanchod (person who ran away from a battle out of fear). During those times cowardice was so shameful that it was worse then death. Krishna was unmoved by this name and happily embraced it. All the efforts of his critics were in vain but though he embraced the name but he still became the greatest warrior. Listening to something does not necessarily mean that you believe in it.

If some one throws filth then throw it back by not being affected by it. Let them be happy saying what ever they think and feel.

Some lines from my forth coming book UNDEFINED-i

Eternal love is something that is free of any kind of needs. It is not bounded by any needs and you love because that defines you and gives a meaning to life amidst of all the difficult situations.

It really happens for some, others are lucky not to fall for it. Some confuse infatuation with love, which is full of bliss and rosiness and when it is over you don’t get tormented but move on.
Love has a different story to it. It is craved yet difficult to bear. It will never leaves your mind, heart and soul. It’s just like a surprise knock on your heart. Like an unexpected guest it comes unannounced especially when its least expected. You will be surprised and think that this cannot be love and this is not happening to me now.

The Karma

“KARAMANYAVADHIKARASTHE MAA PHALESHU KADACHANA
MAA KARMA PHALA HETUR BHURMA TE SANAGOSTVAKARMANI”

                                                           Sloka-47, Chapter-2. Bhagbhat Gita

Meaning: An individual has a right on the work but not on the outcome or results it bears.

I have often wondered in my childhood days that how is it possible to work and yet don’t expect results from your hard work. It never made any sense then.

Now, I think these lines, though very briefly written but embeds stupendous volumes of meaning.

Often we compare ourselves with others, get elated when we are better then them and vice versa. At the same time disassociation from the result of work that we perform is not easy and some of the time its not possible at all.

For example when we appear for an exams we study to pass it. If some one says that only study but don’t aim to pass then the suggestion seems as an unpractical proposition. How can we aim for a goal and yet won’t strategize the course of the outcome as it is not our rights. Is this sloka only idealistic and far from reality some people wonder and ponder?

But if we analyze these lines deeply then the real meaning becomes more pragmatic. When the sloka says that an individual has a right to work then it also assimilates the aspiration of an individual to succeed.

To elaborate this concept further lets go back to our former example, where an individual appears for an exam. The person in this context has to have a mindset to pass it. Keeping an option to fail will make him more complacent and decrease his enthusiasm to put in his best efforts. The individual can perform his best if he aims to succeed, then only he can concentrate on his goal and work hard. The sloka does not say that he should not expect to pass. Every individual put on effort when he has a hope to achieve it.
But due to some circumstance if he fails then he should not be disheartened. There, he has no control over his results.

Sometimes we see very hard working and honest people failing and people with low integrity succeeding. Their success is temporary and eventually the righteousness and truth will prevail. It may take time but at the end the dharma wins. Like the Pandavas had to lead a difficult life but they won at the end.

Some situation may move us, but we have a right on our performance only. The supreme force controls all the results.

But that does not mean we will not get results for our honest work. If we fail in some thing despite of our hard work then the result of that service will be given to us in some other form. May be something better awaits us somewhere else. Hard and honest work never goes unrewarded. We need to have patience and perseverance to wait for our results and keep doing our duty.

The quest of life is to perform good work or Sukarma.

Feeling Elated

Feeling Elated

Feeling elated,
not that this feeling will last
forever.
But what does?

Nor sorrow.
Neither happiness.
In fact nothing lasts forever.

If nothing will lasts forever
then why we fret life?

Let’s live in this elation
as we don’t know
if it will revisit again or not.
